HISTORY -- The Stena Line is one of the largest ferry operators in the world. With services serving Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden and the United Kingdom, Stena Line is a major unit of Stena AB, itself a part of the Stena Sphere. Stena Line also owns the Swedish vessels of the otherwise German- and Danish-owned Scandlines.

HISTORY -- The Orient Steam Navigation Company, also known as the Orient Line, was a British shipping company with roots going back to the late 18th century. From the early 20th century onwards an association began with P&O that eventually culminated in the Orient Line being totally absorbed into that company in the 1960's. The Orient Line's beginnings can be traced back to the formation of a shipbroking company by James Thomson in 1797.

DESCRIPTION -- Original souvenir lapel pin from the vessel the Swift from the Windermere Steamers Company, which is in an excellent condition and dates from the 1940's/1950's.

CONDITION -- Excellent
HISTORY -- Windermere is famous for its 'Great White Birds' - the steamers of the company are named TERN, TEAL, SWAN and SWIFT. The term 'steamer' is a slight misnomer however because all the ships are now diesel powered although there is a move afoot to reconvert one of them back to steam power by the new managers - The Windermere Iron Steamboat Company. The TERN and SWIFT were built for steam power in 1891 and 1900 respectively. The TEAL and SWAN in 1936 and 1938.

DESCRIPTION -- Lapel pin badge from the old vessel the Cutty Sark and is in a very good condition.

CONDITION -- Very Good
HISTORY -- The Cutty Sark is a British clipper ship. Built on the River Leven, Dumbarton, Scotland in 1869 for the Jock Willis Shipping Line, she was one of the last tea clippers to be built and one of the fastest, coming at the end of a long period of design development, which halted as sailing ships gave way to steam propulsion.

DESCRIPTION -- Circular lapel pin souvenir from the vessel the SS Nevasa and it is in a good condition.

CONDITION -- Very Good
HISTORY -- The SS Nevasa was built in 1955 and was built by the British India Steam Navigation Co's biggest ship, the 20,527-ton Nevasa. She was the first troopship built since the end of the Second World War. With accommodation for 500 officers and their families and 1,000 NCOs and men on the troop deck, Nevasa introduced a new era of trooping by sea. She had many comforts compared with older vessels, including stabilisers to reduce rolling in rough sea. Nevasa was built on the Clyde and launched on November 30, 1955, and sailed into Southampton for the first time the following year.
