COMMEMORATIVE PLATE FROM THE FRED OLSEN CRUISE LINES LIMITED

DESCRIPTION -- Commemorative plate from the vessel Boudicca from the Fred Olsen Cruise Lines which was produced for a 2009 cruise and is from a Captains limited edition of 900. The picture on the commemorative plate shows the vessel visiting Funchal, Portugal and is in an excellent condition and the size is 8" (20cm) wide and is an as sold on board ship item.

HISTORY -- Fred Olsen Cruise Lines is a UK based, Norwegian-owned cruise shipping line with four cruise ships. The company headquarters are in Ipswich, Suffolk, United Kingdom and is owned by Bonheur and Ganger Rolf. The company is part of the Fred. Olsen Group.

FIRST ISSUE NORMAN ROCKWELL BELL

DESCRIPTION -- From the collection of Norman Rockwell china this is a beautiful bell entitled 'Looking Out To Sea'.  It shows on the front a colour maritime picture and has a description on the inside, and is 5½" (14cm) tall and is in an excellent condition (click on the picture to see the inscription on the inside of the bell).

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- Norman Percevel Rockwell (February 3, 1894 - November 8, 1978) was an American painter and illustrator, and he was a prolific artist producing more than 4,000 original works in his lifetime.  Most of his works are either in public collections or have been destroyed in fire or other misfortunes. Rockwell was also commissioned to illustrate more than 40 books.

RARE TO FIND CHINA DISPLAY PLATE OF THE VESSEL THE EXCELSIOR

DESCRIPTION -- China display plate showing the vessel the Excelsior formally the Lowestoft Smack at sea and is 9½" (24cm) wide (click on the picture to see the wording on the reverse of the plate).

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- The vessel the Excelsior was formally known as the Lowestoft Smack and was built in 1921 and was rebuilt in 1935 and used for Sail Training.  Commissioning was by Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal at the new Waveney Fishmarket Lowestoft 5th August 1988.  This is a limited edition plate.

SUPERB SOUVENIR DUTCH HAND PAINTED BOX ENTITLED THE CANNON SHOT

DESCRIPTION -- Fantastic Dutch hand painted souvenir box which is 4" (10cm) x 3½" (9cm) and which has all of the details on the base of the box.  Entitled 'The Cannon Shot', it is thought to be several years old and an unusual find (click on the picture to see the inscription on the bottom of the box).

DISPLAY PLATE OF THE OLD SEA GOING VESSEL THE FYING CLOUD

DESCRIPTION -- Full colour display plate of the old ship the Flying Cloud built in 1851 in Boston USA and was one of the fastest vessels ever launched at the time.  It is in an excellent condition and is 8" (20cm) wide and produced by A.J. Heritage.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- Flying Cloud was a clipper ship that set the world's sailing record for the fastest passage between New York and San Francisco, 89 days 8 hours. The ship held this record for over 130 years, from 1854 to 1989.  Flying Cloud was the most famous of the clippers built by Donald McKay. She was known for her extremely close race with Hornet in 1853; for having a woman navigator, Eleanor Creesy, wife of Josiah Perkins Creesy who skippered Flying Cloud on two record-setting voyages from New York to San Francisco; and for sailing in the Australia and timber trades.
