SET OF ORIGINAL SHIPS PLANS FOR THE GENERAL STEAM NAVIGATION COMPANY VESSEL THE WHITEWING

DESCRIPTION -- From the 1950's this is a set of ships plans for the vessel The Whitewing from the General Steam Navigation Company. The plans date from 1956 and are an original set which also show the alterations which have been drawn on. A great find and not likely to be repeated for sale and which is in a good condition.

CONDITION -- Good

HISTORY -- The General Steam Navigation Company was founded in 1824, and became London's foremost short-sea shipping line for a century and a half. The G.S.N.Co. experimented with services to Portugal, Gibraltar, and even Africa and the Americas at times, but it specialised in links with the ports of Britain and north west Europe. It also led the way in providing pleasure cruises between London and resorts lower down the Thames.

FRAMED PRINT OF THE GENERAL STEAM NAVIGATION COMPANY VESSEL THE CRESTED EAGLE

DESCRIPTION -- Superb framed print of the G.S.N.Co. vessel Crested Eagle and is by J. Spurling and is in a very good condition. The size of the print is 10" x 13" (26cm x 33cm) and prints from J. Spurling are always seen as very collectable.
