DESCRIPTION -- Postcard of the Royal Naval ship HMS Brighton which is in an excellent condition.
[ONLY 1 AVAILABLE]

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- With the rest of her class, HMS Brighton was rebuilt between 1970 and 1972 with more modern radar and fire control, and facilities for a Wasp helicopter for long range, anti-submarine engagement. HMS Brighton was the penultimate conversion, her reconstruction was a success, but being late in the schedule, she did not receive further updating.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- HMS Dampier was a Bay-class anti-aircraft frigate of the British Royal Navy, named after the explorer, author and privateer, William Dampier (1652-1715). The ship was in commission from 1948 to 1968, spending her entire career based at Singapore, carrying out survey work.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- HMS Sidlesham was one of 93 ships of the Ham-class of inshore minesweepers. Their names were all chosen from villages ending in -ham. This minesweeper was named after Sidlesham in West Sussex.

HISTORY -- HMS Rothesay was the lead ship of the Rothesay or Type 12M class of anti-submarine frigates of the British Royal Navy. She was commissioned in 1960 and scrapped in 1988.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- HMS Tartar was a Tribal-class destroyer of the Royal Navy that saw service in most of the naval theatres of World War II. She had an eventful career, eventually receiving the nickname 'Lucky Tartar' due to her numerous escapes from dangerous situations. She was one of only four from the sixteen Royal Navy-operated Tribal-class destroyers to survive the war.

HISTORY -- The Royal Navy (RN) is the United Kingdom's principal naval warfare force. Naval forces were first used by Alfred the Great in the 9th century, and from the early 14th century England's navy was engaged in maritime warfare. The modern Royal Navy traces its origins to the early 16th century; the oldest of the UK's armed services, it is known as the Senior Service.

DESCRIPTION -- Postcard sized photograph of the Royal Naval ship HMS Devonshire which is in an excellent condition.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- HMS Devonshire was the first of the County-class destroyers and the first Batch 1 ship of the Royal Navy. The ship was built by Cammell Laird in Birkenhead near Liverpool. With a displacement of 5,440 tonnes (6,850 tonnes full load), Devonshire was named after the English county of Devon. She was launched on 10 June 1960 and delivered to the navy two years later.

DESCRIPTION -- Postcard sized photograph of the Royal Naval ship HMS Chichester which is in an excellent condition.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- HMS Chichester was a Salisbury-class or Type 61 aircraft direction frigate of the British Royal Navy. Chichester was first commissioned in 1958 and in that year rescued crew of the coaster Concha off Milford Haven before the ship sank. The commission took her through the Mediterranean to the Far East returning via South Africa and South America.

HISTORY -- HMS Diomede (F16) was a Leander-class frigate of the Royal Navy. She was built by Yarrow Shipbuilders in Glasgow. Diomede was launched on 15 April 1969 and commissioned on 2 April 1971. Her nickname was "Dimweed".
