DESCRIPTION -- Mini sized souvenir from The Cutty Sark which is a small china cup and saucer, which is a white ripple pattern with a gold rim. The cup shows across it a picture of the Cutty Sark and the name of the vessel underneath. This is an early souvenir piece, which is in a superb near excellent condition and the size is 1" (4cm) high.

CONDITION -- Excellent
HISTORY -- The Cutty Sark is a clipper ship. Built in 1869, she served as a merchant vessel (the last clipper to be built for that purpose), and then as a training ship until being put on public display in 1954. She is preserved in dry dock in Greenwich, London. Cutty Sark is one of only three ships in London on the Core Collection of the National Historic Ships Register (the nautical equivalent of a Grade 1 Listed Building) alongside HMS Belfast and SS Robin.

DESCRIPTION -- Every now and then an item comes along which has not necessarily got any bearing on a maritime theme, but is too good not to list on our website. This particular item is just that and is a pure piece of history. It is a 'Coronation Book' dated 1937, which is in a mint condition. The book has been deleted for many years and is now no longer available. It contains 160 pages and has some wonderful pictures inside. The size is 12" x 10" x (30cm x 27cm). This type of item found today in this superb condition is so unusual. It is a piece of English Royal Family history at its pure best. HISTORY -- Born of the merger of Mitsubishi Mail Steamship Company and Kyodo Unyu Kaisha, NYK resultantly expanded its business from the seas of Asia to the oceans of the world under a nibikiflag featuring two thick red lines on a white background to symbolize the union of the two companies from which NYK arose.

DESCRIPTION -- Original copy of the 'Illustrated London News' newspaper which is an old item dated 25th April 1846. It features in it the tragic loss of the American Packet Ship 'The Henry Clay' on Tuesday 24th April 1846 and shows an illustration of the vessel sinking and gives details of the tragic loss. Also includes some fabulous other stories and some great illustrations and adverts of the time (click on the picture to see some of the inside pages).

DESCRIPTION -- An item from the shipwreck of an old Clipper Ship which is a section of 'scupper bearing pipe' made of 'Lignum Vitae'. This was an item, which was made from African hardwood, used for its durability at sea. The 'scupper-bearing pipe' was used to run water away from the deck of the ship. The item was found amongst pieces from the wreck of a Clipper Ship, sunk south of Ireland and dates circa 1860. This is a very unusual piece and is an ex museum object. The size is approx. 6" (15cm) high and 4" (10cm) wide. High postage due to heavy item.

HISTORY -- A Clipper Ship was a very fast sailing ship of the 19th century that had three or more masts and a square rig. They were generally narrow for their length, could carry limited bulk freight, small by later 19th century standards, and had a large total sail area. Clipper ships were mostly made in British and American shipyards, though France, the Netherlands and other nations also produced some.

DESCRIPTION -- Scarce collection of wine coasters from The Royal National Mission To Deep Sea Fishermen. There are 12 in the set with six pairs of different vessels and the size of the coasters is 3" (9.5cm) square and they are in a mint unused condition. They are still in their original box and are difficult to date and the vessels shown are as follows:
