HISTORY -- RMS Queen Mary 2 (also referred to as the QM2) is a British transatlantic ocean liner. She has served as the flagship of Cunard Line since succeeding Queen Elizabeth 2 in 2004. As of 2020, Queen Mary 2 is the only purpose-built passenger ship designed as an ocean liner, as opposed to a cruise ship. The ship was officially named Queen Mary 2 by Queen Elizabeth II in 2004 after the first RMS Queen Mary of 1936.

DESCRIPTION -- From the Cunard Steamship Company this is a really rare find. It is a soup/dessert bowl which is an as used onboard item and is dated circa 1800's. This is a Cunard design which is not often seen. The item is a little worn as you might expect with the logo looking a little fuzzy and faded and the size of this superb piece is 9" (23.5cm) wide.

HISTORY -- Cunard Line is a British-American owned shipping company based at Carnival House in Southampton, England and operated by Carnival UK. It has been a leading operator of passenger ships on the North Atlantic for over a century. In 1839, Canadian-born Samuel Cunard was awarded the first British transatlantic steamship mail contract, and the next year formed the British and North American Royal Mail Steam-Packet Company to operate the line's four pioneer paddle steamers on the Liverpool' Halifax' Boston route. For most of the next 30 years, Cunard held the Blue Riband for the fastest Atlantic voyage.

DESCRIPTION -- Framed picture of the Cunard Line vessel the Corinthia which is dated circa 1934 and produced by the famous maritime artist J. Nicholson. The picture shows the vessel sailing on the Thames, London, England and is a rare find in such great condition. The size is 11" (29cm) x 9" (24cm)

HISTORY -- John H. Nicholson (1911-1988) was a Manx-born artist and grandson of the Manx artist, John M. Nicholson. He was a successful and prolific artist who specialised in Manx landscape and coastal views, although he was also well-known for his maritime views of shipping in ports ranging from Douglas and Liverpool to Venice.

HISTORY -- RMS Queen Mary was a Cunard Line (then Cunard White Star Line) ocean liner that sailed the North Atlantic Ocean from 1936 to 1967. Built by John Brown and Company, Clydebank, Scotland, she was designed to be the first of Cunard's planned two-ship weekly express service from Southampton to New York, in answer to the mainland European super-liners of the late twenties and early thirties. Queen Mary and her slightly larger and younger running mate RMS Queen Elizabeth commenced this two-ship service after their release from World War II troop transport duties and continued it until for two decades until Queen Mary's retirement in 1967.
