UNUSED COLOUR POSTCARD AND WRITING PAPER FROM THE RMS QUEEN ELIZABETH

DESCRIPTION -- Pair of items from the RMS Queen Elizabeth and are a very early colour postcard and original piece of cabin letter headed paper and are dated early 1950's and both in an excellent condition. With the new Queen Elizabeth liner now in service items from the original vessel are now very collectable.

CONDITION -- Unused/Excellent

HISTORY -- The Queen Elizabeth was the second of the two super liners which Cunard had built for the New York service. After lengthy negotiations between Sir Percy Bates, chairman of Cunard, and the Government a formal contract for what was known as job 535 was signed on 6 October 1936. The Treasury agreed to advance 5 million to Cunard and tenders went out for the contract. The contract went to John Brown & Co, builders of the Queen Mary.

MINT CONDITION UNUSED LETTER CARD FROM THE RMS QUEEN MARY

DESCRIPTION -- Unused mint condition letter card from the RMS Queen Mary which is in a fantastic mint condition and is extremely collectable from this fantastic old vessel of the sea.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- RMS Queen Mary was and is one of the grandest Passenger liners ever built. This giant of the sea offered luxury and a standard unequalled in shipbuilding history. During her remarkable career, from her maiden voyage in 1936 until this day, Queen Mary has played various roles, from an elegant Ocean Liner, to a WWII trooper, then after 1001 Atlantic crossings, RMS Queen Mary was preserved and became a fine hotel and tourist facility in Long Beach California.

UNUSED COLOUR LETTER CARD FROM THE RMS SYLVANIA

DESCRIPTION -- Unused colour Letter Card from the Cunard Line vessel the RMS Sylvania which is in an as new condition and genuine from this famous vessel of recent years.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- The RMS Sylvania was an ocean liner built in 1957 by John Brown & Co (Clydebank), Glasgow, Scotland for the United Kingdom-based shipping company Cunard Line. She was the last Cunard Line vessel built specifically for transatlantic crossings.  The ship was later heavily rebuilt as a cruise ship, and sailed under the names SS Fairwind, SS Sitmar Fairwind, SS Dawn Princess and SS Albatros before being scrapped in 2004. She was renamed SS Genoa for her last voyage.

UNUSED MINT CONDITION LETTER CARD AND LUGGAGE LABEL FROM THE RMS QUEEN MARY

DESCRIPTION -- Original unused items from the RMS Queen Mary which are an unused letter card and an unused luggage label and both items are in a fantastic mint condition.

CONDITION -- Unused/Excellent

HISTORY -- The RMS Queen Mary is a retired ocean liner that sailed the North Atlantic Ocean from 1936 to 1967 for the Cunard Line (then Cunard-White Star when the vessel entered service). Built by John Brown and Company, Clydebank, Scotland, she was designed to be the first of Cunard's planned two-ship weekly express service from Southampton to Cherbourg to New York, in answer to the mainland European super liners of the late 1920's and early 1930's.

SOUVENIR METAL DISH FROM THE CUNARD PRINCESS

DESCRIPTION -- A souvenir circular metal dish from the vessel The Cunard Princess from the Cunard Line shipping company. It is approx. 5" (14cm) in size and is in a great condition and dates from the 1960's. (click on the picture for a closer view of the centre)

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- The Cunard Princess set on her first cruise from New York City to the Caribbean in March 1977, joining her elder sister MS Cunard Countess in the Caribbean cruise service. At the time the Cunard Princess was registered in Southampton, but in 1980 she was moved to the Bahamian registry, with Nassau as her homeport. Later during her career with Cunard the ship started cruising around Europe, while the Cunard Countess remained in Caribbean service.

INFORMATION 'SHIPS NOTICES' CARD FROM THE CUNARD STEAM SHIP COMPANY LTD DATED 1931

DESCRIPTION -- An information 'Ships Notices' card from the Cunard Steam Ship Company from 1931. For the Canadian Service shipping it shows general sailings and shipping date information for sailings between London and Quebec/Montreal and the vessels:
AUSONIA; ASCANIA; ALAUNIA; AURANIA.
Hard to locate type of item and fairly rare and in good condition with the size being 9" x 8" (23cm x 20cm).

CONDITION -- Good

HISTORY -- As we know Cunard Line is an American owned, British operated shipping company. It has been a leading operator of passenger ships on the North Atlantic for over a century. In 1839, Canadian-born Samuel Cunard was awarded the first British transatlantic steamship mail contract, and the next year formed the British and North American Royal Mail Steam-Packet Company to operate the line's four pioneer paddle steamers on the Liverpool' Halifax' Boston route.

VERY EARLY ORIGINAL RMS QUEEN MARY SOUVENIR TIN

DESCRIPTION -- Original item from the grand old lady of the sea The RMS Queen Mary. It is a souvenir picture tin as purchased on board the vessel and dates from the 1950's. It is in a fairly good condition and a real find with the size being 8" x 5" (20cm x 13cm).

CONDITION -- Fair

HISTORY -- The RMS Queen Mary is a retired ocean liner that sailed the North Atlantic Ocean from 1936 to 1967 for the Cunard Line (then Cunard-White Star when the vessel entered service). Built by John Brown and Company, Clydebank, Scotland, she was designed to be the first of Cunard's planned two-ship weekly express service from Southampton to Cherbourg to New York, in answer to the mainland European super liners of the late 1920's and early 1930's. After their release from World War II troop transport duties, Queen Mary and her running mate RMS Queen Elizabeth commenced this two-ship service and continued it for two decades until Queen Mary's retirement in 1967.

MAIDEN VOYAGE BOOKLETS OF THE CUNARD LINE VESSEL THE MS QUEEN VICTORIA

DESCRIPTION -- Rare to find available now maiden voyage booklets of the Cunard Line vessel the Queen Victoria, launched in 2007 and which are in an as new perfect condition.

CONDITION -- Excellent /As New

HISTORY -- MS Queen Victoria is a Vista-class cruise ship operated by the Cunard Line and is named after the British Monarch Queen Victoria. She is of the same basic design as other Vista-class cruise ships including Queen Elizabeth. At 90,049 GT she is the smallest of Cunard's ships in operation. Her facilities include seven restaurants, thirteen bars, three swimming pools, a ballroom, and a theatre.

GLASS DISH FROM THE VESSEL THE CUNARD COUNTESS DATED 1976

DESCRIPTION -- Souvenir oval shaped glass dish from the vessel The Cunard Countess of the Cunard Line. It was produced for the ship's inaugural cruise in August 1976 and it is approx. 4" (10cm) in size and is in a great condition.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- Launched by Burmeister & Wain in Copenhagen in 1974, the vessel Cunard Countess was moved to La Spezia for fitting out, entering service with Cunard Line in August 1976. Her sistership was The Cunard Princess. In 1982/83 she was used as a troop ship during the Falklands conflict. Cunard Countess was sold to Royal Olympic in 1997 becoming the Olympic Countess (later Olympia Countess). Following the collapse of Royal Olympia in 2004, Olympia Countess was bought by Majestic International Cruises who renamed her.
