VERY RARE FIND P&O LINE ORIENTAL COMPANY MUG

DESCRIPTION -- From the P&O Line and dating from the 1960's this is a rare to find oriental souvenir mug which is in a very good condition and a very rare and unusual find.

HISTORY -- An interesting fact about the P&O Line (formerly the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company) – it was a British shipping and logistics company dating from the early 19th century. Formerly a public company, it was sold to DP World in March 2006 for £3.9 billion. DP World currently operate three P&O branded businesses, P&O Ferries, P&O Maritime and P&O Heritage.

DESCRIPTION -- From the P&O Line Cruises this is a souvenir tin showing on it the company emblem and is in an as new condition and from the second Oriana.  Oriana was the last ship built for P&O In Germany before P&O Cruises were sold to Carnival.

SOUVENIR TANKARD FROM THE P&O LINE VESSEL THE SS CANBERRA

DESCRIPTION -- Souvenir tankard from the famous vessel the P&O Line vessel the SS Canberra who saw war duty in the Falklands conflict, and is in an excellent condition and the size is 5″ (12cm) tall.

CONDITION -- Good

HISTORY -- The SS Canberra was an ocean liner, which later operated on cruises, in the P&O fleet from 1961 to 1997. She was built at the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast, Northern Ireland at a cost of £17,000,000. The ship was named on 17 March 1958, after the federal capital of Australia, Canberra. She was launched on 16 March 1960.

RARE TO FIND 150TH ANNIVERSARY TEA/COFFEE MUG FROM THE P&O LINE 1987

DESCRIPTION -- Souvenir 150th anniversary tea/coffee mug from the P&O Line shipping company in 1987, which is in an excellent almost unused condition, and difficult to find available to purchase these days (click on the picture to see the revers of the mug).

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- In 1837 the Peninsular Steam Navigation Company was awarded a government contract to run a weekly mail service between Falmouth and the Iberian Peninsula ports as far as Gibraltar. This date 180 years ago marks the foundation of P&O, the company from which we can trace our roots today. Such an occasion deserves lots of attention.

DESCRIPTION -- Souvenir mugfrom the insugral season of the P&O liner the Oceana which is in an excellent condition.

HISTORY -- The P&O Line vessel the Oceana started service under the name "Ocean Princess" in February 2000. The vessel was a P&O order for Princess Cruises' fleet. As Ocean Princess, she offered Caribbean and Alaskan voyages, with relocation through Panama Canal. Two years after the launch, she entered the P&O fleet as MV Oceana.

VERY EARLY SILVER PLATED SALT/MUSTARD POT FROM THE P&O LINE

DESCRIPTION -- From the P&O Line shipping company this is an original as used on board item from the 1940's/50's and is a salt/mustard pot which is silver-plated. It is in a good condition and has its original glass insert and the size of the item is 2½" (7cm) wide and shows on the front the P&O marking.

DESCRIPTION -- From the P&O Line shipping company and dating from the 1950's this is an original in service waiters serving dish which may be silver-plated and is made by Mappin and Webb Ltd (P&O Line providers). It is bottom marked P&O with crest and is 6" (15cm) wide and is in a good condition.
