SOUVENIR DATE MACHINE FROM THE REINA DEL MAR OF THE UNION CASTLE LINE

DESCRIPTION -- Souvenir from the Union Castle Line vessel the Reina Del Mar which is a Date Machine which is in a very good condition. It shows on it the ship badge of a bow on view plus also the ships name around the edge and the size of this piece is 4" x 7" (11.5cm x 18cm).

CONDITION -- Very Good

HISTORY -- The Union-Castle Line was a prominent shipping line that operated a fleet of passenger liners and freighters between Europe and Africa from 1900 to 1977. It was formed from the merger of the Union Line and Castle Shipping Line. It merged with Bullard King and Clan Line in 1956 to form British & Commonwealth Shipping, and then with South African Marine Corporation in 1973 to create International Liner Services, but maintained its separate identity throughout. Its shipping operations ceased in 1977.

CHINA COMPORT PASTRY DISH FROM THE UNION CASTLE LINE

DESCRIPTION -- From the Union Castle Line a china Comport Pastry Dish which would have been used on board and is set on a plinth and bottom marked Union Castle Line. It is dated circa 1930's and the size is 8" (22cm) wide and in a very good condition.
