VERY EARLY METAL PINDISH FROM THE QE2

DESCRIPTION -- An early souvenir piece from the vessel the Queen Elizabeth II which is a silver-plated decorative dish. It is 5" (13.5cm) wide and is in a fantastic condition and is engraved with a picture of the liner on the front and the name The Queen Elizabeth II and also has engraved on the front the words THE GREATEST SHIP IN THE WORLD. On the back there is a inscribed map showing the ships journey and the words TO COMMEMORATE YOUR VOYAGE QE2 (click on the picture to see a close up view of the item).

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- The RMS Queen Elizabeth 2, often referred to simply as the 'QE2', is a retired Cunard ocean liner, now owned by Nakheel, a division of Dubai World. She was named after the earlier Cunard liner RMS Queen Elizabeth, and served as the flagship of the line from 1969 until succeeded by RMS Queen Mary 2 in 2004.

ORIGINAL HEART SHAPED DISH FROM THE CUNARD COUNTESS

DESCRIPTION -- An ornamental dish from the Cunard Countess of the Cunard Shipping Company which is a heart shaped piece and has the 'Lion' figure to the centre. It is also inscribed 'Cunard Princess' with the size being 3" (8cm) wide and it is in an excellent condition.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- Cunard Princess set on her first cruise from New York City to the Caribbean in March 1977, joining her elder sister MS Cunard Countess in the Caribbean cruise service. At the time the Cunard Princess was registered in Southampton, but in 1980 she was moved to the Bahamian registry, with Nassau as her homeport. Later during her career with Cunard the ship started cruising around Europe, while the Cunard Countess remained in Caribbean service.

ORIGINAL AS USED ONBOARD CUNARD PRINCESS HI-BALL GLASS

DESCRIPTION -- Original piece from the Cunard Line Shipping Company which is a 'Hi Ball' type drinks glass from the vessel The Cunard Princess. It is 6" (17cm) in size and is in an almost mint condition and is marked with the Cunard & vessel name.  This is the type of item typically used onboard and also purchased as a souvenir.

HISTORY -- Cunard Line is an American owned, British operated shipping company. It has been a leading operator of passenger ships on the North Atlantic for over a century. In 1839, Canadian-born Samuel Cunard was awarded the first British transatlantic steamship mail contract, and the next year formed the British and North American Royal Mail Steam-Packet Company to operate the line's four pioneer paddle steamers on the Liverpool' Halifax' Boston route.

UNUSUAL EARLY TIE CLIP SOUVENIR FROM THE CUNARD LINE

DESCRIPTION -- From the Cunard Line Shipping Company and is an early 'Tie Clip' souvenir of the period. It shows on it a superb picture of the old vessel at sea and it is complete and difficult to date but believed to be fairly old.

EARLY 1940'S RMS QUEEN ELIZABETH PEWTER TANKARD

DESCRIPTION -- From one of the most famous of Cunard Liners, the RMS Queen Elizabeth, an early Pewter Tankard from around the 1940's. It shows the ship's name to the base section and is scribed in a nice pattern and is in a great condition and a rare find.

HISTORY -- RMS Queen Elizabeth was an ocean liner operated by the Cunard Line and was contracted to carry Royal Mail as the second half of a two-ship weekly express service between Southampton and New York City via Cherbourg.

SOUVENIR PEN FROM THE CUNARD LINE VESSEL PARTHIA

DESCRIPTION -- Original souvenir item from the Cunard Line ship Parthia which is a decorative pen usually given to ladies in 1st Class and has a nice pearl finish to it. It shows on the front a superb view of the liner and also reads 'Cunard White Star Liner Parthia'. It is dated circa 1940's and is in a fine condition, with the size being 5" (13cm) long (click on the picture to see a close up view of the item and the pearl finish).

CONDITION -- Very Good

HISTORY -- This ship was originally built as the Cunard cargo-passenger liner Parthia of 1947, used on intermediate Liverpool-New York or Canada services. The sister ships built at the same time were uneconomic and were sold in 1961, Parthia going to the P&O Group company New Zealand Shipping Co, renamed Remuera.  She re-entered service in June 1962 following rebuilding of upper works aft. In 1965 she was transferred within P&O to the Eastern & Australian SS Co for their Hong Kong-Melbourne service and renamed Aramac. She was broken up in 1969.

1940's JIGSAW PUZZLE OF THE VESSEL THE CARONIA

DESCRIPTION -- Superb complete jigsaw puzzle of the old vessel the Caronia which is dated circa 1940's. This was an old ship from the Cunard Steamship Navigation Company and was considered by many a superb 'World Cruise Ship' in its day. The jigsaw puzzle is in its original box, however the box shows a little wear from over the years.

CONDITION -- Good

HISTORY -- In 1999, Cunard renamed the Vistafjord as the Caronia. By this time she carried 736 passengers and tonnage had increased to 24492 following additional cabins on the upper deck. In May 2003, Caronia was reported sold to Saga Cruises, to rejoin her former fleet-mate Saga Rose as the Saga Star from 2005.

VICTORY JIGSAW OF THE LINER RMS QUEEN MARY

DESCRIPTION -- An early ever so rare wooden jigsaw of the liner the RMS Queen Mary, and is made by Victory. It is a superb hand cut wooden item and it is complete and in good condition, containing some 170 pieces and still in its original box, which is also in good condition. When put together the size is approx. 12" x 18" (30cm x 45cm).

COPPER FINGER BOWL FROM THE LINER RMS QUEEN MARY

DESCRIPTION -- An original item from the famous liner the RMS Queen Mary, which is a ships copper finger bowl, found in use on board around 1940-49. It is produced in an original beaten copperware design from the vessel's early sailing days and the size is approx. 4" x 2" (10cm x 5cm) and is still in a very good condition.
