VERY RARE SOUVENIR SPOON FROM THE CUNARD LINE VESSEL THE SAMARIA

DESCRIPTION -- Rare to find souvenir spoon from the Cunard Line vessel the RMS Samaria which is in an excellent condition and dates from the 1940's.  Not many items come up for sale from this vessel.

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- The RMS Samaria was transatlantic ocean liner built for Cunard Line. She served from 1922 until 1955. During the Second World War she was a troopship in the Royal Navy. Samaria was scrapped in 1956.

SOUVENIR SPOON FROM THE OLD UNION CASTLE LINE VESSEL THE WALMER CASTLE

DESCRIPTION -- From the Union Castle Line vessel the Walmer Castle this is a very old souvenir spoon which is in a fair condition, and dates from the 1920's/1930's.

CONDITION -- Fair

HISTORY -- The vessel RMS Walmer Castle was built at John Brown, Clydebank and launched on March 9th 1921 by the Prince of Wales. It was converted in 1937 to two funnels and given a reshaped bow and used as a troop ship. The vessel was tragically sunk in May 1943.

SOUVENIR SPOON FROM THE CANADIAN PACIFIC LINE VESSEL THE EMPRESS OF BRITAIN

DESCRIPTION -- From the vessel the Empress of Britain from the Canadian Pacific Line, which was built 1955 and sold 1964 this is a souvenir spoon which is in an excellent condition (click on the picture to see the company emblem at the end of the spoon).

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- The RMS Empress of Britain was an ocean liner built between 1928 and 1931 by John Brown shipyard in Scotland and owned by Canadian Pacific Steamship Company. This ship was the second of three CP vessels named Empress of Britain - provided scheduled trans-Atlantic passenger service from spring to autumn between Canada and Europe from 1931 until 1939.

SOUVENIR SPOON FROM THE FAMOUS OLD VESSEL THE AQUITANIA

DESCRIPTION -- Very rare to find souvenir spoon from the old Cunard Line vessel the Aquitania and dates from the 1930's/40's and is in a fair condition (click on the picture for close up of the emblem at the end of the spoon).

CONDITION -- Fair

HISTORY -- The RMS Aquitania was a British ocean liner of Cunard Line in service from 1914 to 1950. She was designed by Leonard Peskett and built by John Brown & Company in Clydebank, Scotland. She was launched on 21 April 1913 and sailed on her maiden voyage from Liverpool to New York on 30 May 1914. Aquitania was the third in Cunard Line's grand trio of express liners, preceded by RMS Mauritania and RMS Lusitania, and was the last surviving four-funnelled ocean liner.

HISTORY -- The RMS Queen Mary is a retired British ocean liner that sailed primarily on the North Atlantic Ocean from 1936 to 1967 for the Cunard Line also known as Cunard-White Star Line when the vessel entered service. She was the flagship of the Cunard and White Star Lines, built by John Brown & Company in Clydebank, Scotland,Queen Mary, along with RMS Queen Elizabeth, were built as part of Cunard's planned two-ship weekly express service between Southampton, Cherbourg and New York.

DESCRIPTION -- From the very old vessel the SS Athenic from the White Star Line, this is a very rare souvenir spoon which is in an excellent condition (click on the picture for close up of the emblem at the end of the spoon).

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- The SS Athenic was a British passenger liner built by Harland & Wolff shipyards for the White Star Line in 1901. In 1928, she came to a Norwegian company and was renamed SS Pelagos. Torpedoed in 1944, she was re-floated the following year and continued to serve until her demolition in 1962.

DESCRIPTION -- From a very distinguished old vessel the RMS Scythia this is a very rare to find souvenir spoon which is in a very good condition and dates from the 1930's/40's (click on the picture for close up of the emblem at the end of the spoon).

CONDITION -- Very Good

HISTORY -- RMS Scythia was a Cunard liner. She sailed on her maiden voyage in 1921, and became a troop and supply ship during the Second World War. Scythia was the longest serving Cunard liner until 4 September 2005, when her record was surpassed by MS Queen Elizabeth 2.

HISTORY -- The RMS Carmania was a British ocean liner designed by Leonard Peskett and built by John Brown & Company for the Cunard Line.  In World War I, Carmania was converted to an armed merchant cruiser.  When launched in 1905, Carmania and her running mate, Caronia, were the largest ships in the Cunard fleet.

RARE TO FIND SOUVENIR SPOON FROM THE P&O LINE VESSEL THE SS RANPURA

DESCRIPTION -- From the P&O Line vessel the SS Ranpura this is a souvenir spoon which is rare to find and is in an excellent condition  (click on the picture for close up of the emblem at the end of the spoon).

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- The SS Ranpura was a British passenger and cargo carrying ocean liner built by R. & W. Hawthorn Leslie and Company at Newcastle upon Tyne for the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company in 1924. She was the first of the P&O 'R' class liners that had much of their interiors designed by Lord Inchcape's daughter Elsie Mackay. She was launched 13 September 1924.

DESCRIPTION -- In an excellent condition this is a souvenir spoon from the Orient Line vessel the SS Orsova (click on the picture for close up of the emblem at the end of the spoon).

CONDITION -- Excellent

HISTORY -- The SS Orsova, was a British ocean liner, built by Vickers Armstrong Shipbuilders Ltd. of Barrow-in-Furness, England for the Orient Steam Navigation Company (Orient Line) for their Great Britain-to-Australia services via the Suez Canal. She was the final development of the 28,000 ton class which began with the SS Orcades of 1948 and continued with the SS Oronsay of 1951.
